Snorkel With Whale Sharks

November – May-

Can you think of an experience as exciting as snorkel with the biggest fish on the planet? Whale sharks may be the biggest fish but they are gentle giants, you can swim along side them in harmany.

In the same area you can look out for dolphins, rays, whales, and other species of the wonderful marine life of the Sea of Cortez. 

The whale sharks are in the area from November April because they are feeding on plankton.  They therefore swim slowly to filter feed at the surface.  Whale sharks feed on plankton and other very small nektonic life. They are not aggressive in any way and don’t even have teeth.  Whale sharks are the largest fish, when fully grown they can reach lengths of 30 feet therefore seeing a whale shark at any distance is incredible. This tour allows you to experience something completely different and will allow you to take home memories you can keep forever.


You will picked up from your accommodation in an air-conditioned transportation, you will be given a breakfast snack and you have the opportunity to stop along the way to get a traditional Mexican breakfast.

On arrival to the marina, you will meet your captain and hop on the boat and make your way to the whale sharks snorkel area.

Safety first, your experienced whale shark guide will give you a safety briefing and tell you the correct way to swim with the whale shark to protect the animals and the area. 

You will be given your snorkel equipment and shown how to use it if needed.

You have the chance to jump in the water numerous times with the whale sharks until you have has a wonderful interaction and you feel content.

While you are on the boat look out for other pelagic animals like dolphins, and rays and you can hop in the water with these as well. 

Once the snorkeling has finished you will be taken to one of the beautiful beaches of La Paz so you can enjoy a Mexican lunch at the beach. 
On the way back to your accommodation we can take you to one of the surrounding towns so you can experience more of the Baja.

Self dive

If you are staying in La Paz or have a car and would like to drive yourself to see these wonderful animals, you can meet us on the dock in La Paz and we can head straight out to see the whale sharks.
